O USO DO ESPAÇO EM CIBER-NARRATIVAS: UMA ANÁLISE DA OBRA O DIÁRIO DE VIRGÍNIA

Resumo

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar o uso do espaço como meio de construção de significados na narrativa produzida e veiculada no ciberespaço. Para tanto, elegemos como recorte de nossa análise um capítulo da webcomic brasileira O diário de Virgínia. Entendemos que o advento das tecnologias digitais encerrou novas experiências de leitura, assim como novas possibilidades criativas para a produção e fruição de obras em meio digital. O resultado são obras com características híbridas, hipertextuais, experimentais, intermídia e interartes, as quais desafiam seus leitores a quebrar os padrões de leitura a que já estão habituados.  Assim, apresentaremos uma proposta de leitura de um capítulo da supracitada obra com a finalidade de ilustrar como tais possibilidades se realizam. Como nosso embasamento teórico, utilizamos autores como Claus Clüver (2006), Edgar Franco (2013), Janet Murray (2003), George P. Landow (1997), Naomi S. Baron (2015), J. Yellowlee Douglas (2003), Maryanne Wolf (2007), Roger Chartier (1999), Vilém Flusser (2010) e Johanna Drucker (2014).

NA ANALYSIS OF THE WORK O DIÁRIO DE VIRGÍNIA

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to analyze how space can be used as a medium for building meaning in a narrative produced and published on the cyberspace. For doing so, we chose to focus on a chapter of the Brazilian webcomic O Diário de Virginia. We understand that as digital technologies rose, new reading experiences were created, as well as new creative possibilities for the production and reading of digital works. The resulting works display hybrid characteristics, and are also hypertextual, experimental, intermedia and interarts, and demand that their readers break reading patterns they are already used to. Thus, we will present a possibility of reading for the aforementioned work, so as to illustrate how such possibilities come to be. As for our theoretical reflections, we consulted authors such as Claus Clüver (2006), Edgar Franco (2013), Janet Murray (2003), George P. Landow (1997), Naomi S. Baron (2015), J. Yellowlee Douglas (2003), Maryanne Wolf (2007), Roger Chartier (1999), Vilém Flusser (2010) and Johanna Drucker (2014).
