LINGUAGENS E FORMAS DA CULTURA MULTITELAR EM HOMENS, MULHERES & FILHOS

Resumo

Este trabalho propõe a análise do livro Homens, mulheres & filhos (2011), de Chad Kultgen, e do filme homônimo (EUA, 2014), dirigido por Jason Reitman. Partindo do predomínio da tecnologia no século XXI, objetiva-se verificar a função das novas mídias na reconfiguração do comportamento individual, das relações interpessoais e do aspecto formal das artes, sobretudo na literatura e no cinema, de modo a considerar os produtos culturais em análise. Em conformidade com o aspecto social da arte, o livro de Kultgen e o filme de Reitman refletem as mudanças que caracterizam o século XXI. Sendo assim, com base nos pressupostos de Italo Calvino (1990), Zygmunt Bauman (2001; 2004; 2005; 2008) e Renato Cordeiro Gomes (2008), este estudo avalia, tanto no romance quanto na adaptação fílmica, a influência da multiplicidade e das diversas mídias que integram o cotidiano da sociedade contemporânea. Nessa comparação, são enfatizados os processos de fragmentação narrativa, a constituição de cena e a divisão da tela (que passa a integrar as interfaces digitais).

ABSTRACT

This work proposes the analysis of the book Men, women & children (2011), by Chad Kultgen, and of the homonymous film (USA, 2014), directed by Jason Reitman. Starting from the prevalence of the technology in the century XXI, it is aimed at to verify the function of the new media in the reconfiguration of the individual behavior, of the interpersonal relationships and of the arts' formal aspect, above all in the literature and in the cinema, in way to consider the cultural products in analysis. In accordance with the art's social aspect, the Kultgen's novel and the Reitman's film contemplate the changes that characterize the century XXI. Being like this, based on studies of Italo Calvino (1990), Zygmunt Bauman (2001; 2004; 2005; 2008) and Renato Cordeiro Gomes (2008), this paper evaluates, in the romance and in the filmic adaptation, the influence of the multiplicity and of the media that integrate the contemporary society's daily. In that comparison, the processes of narrative fragmentation, the scene constitution and the division of the screen (that passes to integrate the digital interfaces) are emphasized.
