CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE O PAPEL DA EQUIPE DE PROFISSIONAIS EM CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

RESUMO:

Objetivo: Analisar a relação dos profissionais de saúde junto a pacientes em Cuidados Paliativos e seus familiares. Método: Estudo descritivo, de revisão integrativa da literatura que pretende identificar como o profissional de saúde lida com a morte e o morrer e como tal perspectiva se reflete na relação deste com o paciente, a equipe, os familiares e a instituição de trabalho. Foram realizadas buscas de artigos nas bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library (Scielo) e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), ambos no idioma português entre o período de 2014 a 2018. Resultado: Ao todo foram analisados 06 (seis) estudos obedecendo aos critérios de inclusão selecionados. Através desses estudos foi possível aprofundar nas seguintes categorias: (a) Relação entre o profissional de saúde e pacientes em Cuidados Paliativos; (b) A saúde mental dos profissionais e o impacto de cuidar; (c) O papel da instituição de ensino no cuidado com o profissional de saúde; (d) A importância do vínculo entre a equipe profissional, o paciente e os familiares. Conclusão: Foi possível evidenciar o quanto a atuação dos profissionais de saúde em uma modalidade de cuidados com pacientes que tenha condição ou doença crônica e grave que ameace a continuidade da vida é algo que reflete em suas relações.

CONSIDERATIONS ON THE ROLE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS’ STAFF SUPERVISING PALLIATIVE CARE: AN INTEGRATED REVISION

ABSTRACT:

Objective: The focus of this study is to analyse the relation between health professionals amongst patients under palliative care and their family members. Method: It consists in a descriptive study formed by an integrated literature revision which intends to identify how that health professional deals with death and dying. Also, it intends to show how such perspective reflects upon its relation with the patient, the staff, the patient’s family members and the workplace as a whole. Searches have been made looking for related articles on database platforms such as the Scientific Electronic Library (Scielo) and the Health Virtual Library (BVS, in the Portuguese acronym), between the years of 2014 and 2018. Result: Overall, there were analyzed 6 (six) studies following the aforementioned criteria. Through these studies it was made possible to go deep on the next categories: (a) The relation between a health professional and their patients under palliative care; (b) The health professionals’ mental health and the act of caring; (c) The role of the workplace, as an institution, towards the health professional; (d) The importance of the bond established between health professionals, patients and family members. Conclusion: Through those categories it was made possible to put into evidence how much health professionals were affected in dealing with patients undergoing palliative care and, on the other hand, how that reflects upon their relation.
