MUSICOTERAPIA PARA IDOSOS COM DOENÇA DE ALZHEIMER: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

RESUMO:

O presente trabalho buscou identificar a possível relação entre a utilização da musicoterapia em pacientes com Doenças de Alzheimer (DA) e possibilidades de melhoras nos sintomas clínicos que a DA apresenta. Para isto foi realizado um estudo descritivo, do tipo revisão integrativa utilizando as bases de dados BVS, PubMed e Scielo. Como critérios de inclusão estavam os artigos terem sido publicados entre 2015-2019, serem do tipo quantitativo e que relacionassem diretamente a utilização da musicoterapia e sua possível interferência em algum aspecto clínico da DA. Ao todo foram encontrados 1054 artigos e após aplicação dos critérios de exclusão e inclusão, que são descritos no método, restaram apenas quatro para serem analisados na íntegra. Emergiram três categorias: a) heterogeneidade do perfil dos idosos participantes; b) Benefícios da musicoterapia em aspectos cognitivos gerais e específicos; c) Benefícios da musicoterapia em aspectos emocionais. Por meio deste estudo foi possível perceber que este recurso terapêutico está ganhando maior visibilidade, entretanto ainda se mostra necessária pesquisas mais aprofundadas na área que busquem detalhadamente os efeitos cognitivos e emocionais que a musicoterapia pode proporcionar a idosos com DA em um período de médio e longo prazo, visto que a maior parte dos estudos foca nos resultados imediatos.

MUSIC THERAPY FOR ELDERLY WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE:
AN INTEGRATING REVIEW

ABSTRACT:

This study aimed to identify the possible relationship between the use of music therapy in patients with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and the possibility of improvement in the clinical symptoms that AD presents. For this purpose, a descriptive study of the integrative review type was carried out using the BVS, PubMed and Scielo databases. In this project, the articles were selected based on three criteria: the publication year must to be between 2015 and 2019, the article type must be quantitative and the subject must relate music therapy with possible interference in some clinical aspects of AD. In all, 1054 articles were found and after applying the exclusion and inclusion criteria, which are described in the method, only four remained to be analyzed in their entirety. Three categories emerged: a) heterogeneity of the profile of the elderly participants; b) Benefits of music therapy in general and specific cognitive aspects; c) Benefits of music therapy in emotional aspects. Through this study it was possible to perceive that this therapeutic resource is gaining greater visibility, however still it is necessary to further investigate in the area that search in detail the cognitive and emotional effects that the music therapy can provide to the elderly with AD in a medium and long period since most studies focus on immediate results.
