CONTRIBUIÇÕES DAS TEORIAS PSICOLÓGICAS E NEUROPSICOLÓGICAS NA COMPREENSÃO DO DESENVOLVIMENTO COGNITIVO EM CRIANÇAS COM TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

RESUMO:

O prejuízo no funcionamento cognitivo, às falhas na comunicação social e os interesses restritos e repetitivos são aspectos relevantes no estudo do Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) e as teorias psicológicas têm contribuído para o seu entendimento. O presente estudo é uma revisão integrativa da literatura e objetivou identificar e relacionar estudos do desenvolvimento cognitivo normativo com os aspectos do neurodesenvolvimento de crianças com TEA. Para isso, foi feita a busca de trabalhos nas bases de dados da Biblioteca Nacional de Medicina dos Estados Unidos (Pubmed) e Portal de Periódicos Capes (CAPES/MEC), publicados nos últimos cinco anos. Os descritores usados na coleta dos dados foram Autism Spectrum Disorder AND Sensory Processing AND Neuropsychology AND Perception. Após a seleção dos artigos encontrados e aplicados os critérios de inclusão restaram dois artigos que foram analisados integralmente. Os resultados obtidos por esses estudos apontaram para um transtorno no desenvolvimento cognitivo de crianças com TEA, especialmente em funções como percepção, atenção visual e memória. Pode-se notar que o autismo afeta a totalidade das vivências individuais e sociais: da sensação e percepção ao comportamento motor, emoção, comunicação e cognição. Sendo assim, os estudos acerca dos sintomas sensoriais podem ser de grande eficiência e aplicação para desvendar as relações entre os domínios da experiência humana e a percepção sensorial.

CONTRIBUTIONS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL AND NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL THEORIES IN THE COMPREHENSION OF COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDREN WITH AUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDERS: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

ABSTRACT:

Cognitive functioning impairment, social media failures, and restricted and repetitive interests are relevant aspects in the study of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the psychological theories have contributed to their understanding. The present study is an integrative review of the literature and aims to identify and list studies of normative cognitive development with neurodevelopmental aspects of children with ASD. In order to do this, we searched the databases of the National Library of Medicine of the United States (Pubmed) and Portal de Periodical Capes (CAPES / MEC), published in the last five years. The descriptors used in the data collection were Autism Spectrum Disorder AND Sensory Processing AND Neuropsychology AND Perception. After the selection of the articles found and the inclusion criteria were applied, two articles remained that were analyzed in full. The results obtained by these studies pointed to a disorder in the cognitive development of children with ASD, especially in functions such as perception, visual attention and memory. It can be noted that autism affects the totality of individual and social experiences: from sensation and perception to motor behavior, emotion, communication and cognition. Thus, studies of sensory symptoms can be of great efficiency and application to unravel the relations between the domains of human experience and sensory perception.
